Best TOEFL Books and Study Guides

If you are looking to buy a TOEFL study guide, you should check out THE TOEFL BOOKSTORE. They link to Amazon for their TOEFL books and study guides, which means you usually save at least 10% on the TOEFL books. More importantly, if you look at the menu on the right side of the store, the books are sorted into categories, so that you can quickly find the book you are looking for. Have any of the readers here already used any TOEFL iBT books to help them study? If so, leave a comment letting us know which book you tried, and how helpful you found it.

  1. I’ve used the Longman Prep book by Deborah Phillips for a few years at California State University, San Bernardino. It has helped many of my students. However, the content in the book is easier than the actual TOEFL iBT.

  4. One of the very first ‘big’ guidebooks to come out was Delta’s KEY to the TOEFL iBT, and in my opinion it was and remains one of the very best with the closest resemblance in task format and difficulty to the actual TOEFL. I also like the approach in it to setting up your own study system and tracking your own performance.

The Kaplan guides are good as well
